I am currently in my last year in the Bachelor of Theoretical Physics, I have been a member of
another Physics association where I had the opportunity to take a directive position for one year. I
have had the experience of doing physics demonstrations to high school, elementary school students,
and to the general public. I have been to two research trips. The first one was a Research Semester
at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland for which I learned about the basics of Machine Learning and where I
learn how to apply ML to monitor data for a sub detector of the CMS
Experiment. Currently I am working with a group of researchers from Fermilab that focus on improving the Data Quality Monitoring process
for offline shifters by applying ML to another sub detector.
Research Interests: Machine Learning, High Energy Physics
Personal Interests: Netflix, PC gaming, Basketball
I am a Physics undergrad student at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus (UPRM), with the
potential to graduate in May 2020, and am planning to continue my studies in UPRM under the Physics
graduate program. Prior to becoming the vice-president of the SSC, I was the president of the
Society of Physics Students (SPS), Mayagüez Chapter, during the 2018-2019 academic year. There, I
have had the experience and gratitude to impact local and non-local communities through physical
demonstrations and theatrical performances, as well as develop its members professionally,
academically, and socially through a myriad of activities and events. As of now, I have only done
research once in UPRM in radiosondes launchings with a professor from the Physics Department.
However, I am currently initiating another research along with another professor and a colleague on
Research Interests: Relativity (both Special and General), Quantum Mechanics, Computational
Personal Interests: Board Games, Card Games, Anime
Curious Facts: I use LaTex for all my homework. Also, I played as Newton in the SPS’s
play, “The Physics Show: Make Physics Great Again”.
I'm an undergraduate student of education in physics and theoretical physics. I'm doing research on particle physics with the professor Sudhir Malik. Additionally, I’m part of the board of the SPS (Society of Physics Students) as a Director of Sales and a second hand of the Treasurer of the society. Currently I'm a programming teacher for students from 9th to 12th grade showing C++ with applications on Arduinos at Walks Webs. I went to Cornell University for a summer internship to design and develop a tensile test machine for stress and strain on carbon fiber for CMS Phase II Pixel Detector.
Research Interests: Particle Physics, High Energy Physics, 3D designing/printing, microcontrollers
I am a student of Business Administration; my concentration is in Computers information systems. I am
currently in my third year at the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez. It is my first time being
in a directive, my role is director of activities, before being here I was a member of Catalyst
Consulting (2017-2018). An Association that is focused on providing tools doing a consulting
approach to solve problems. It also helped me to develop my skills with resumes, among other
Undergraduate Computer Science and Engineering student, also pursuing a Minor’s Degree in Economics. Interested in topics related to Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Financial data analysis. My previous experiences include two internships at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (Summer 2017 & 2018), one semester-long internship with Eli Lilly and Company (Fall 2018) and one internship with Bank of America Merrill Lynch (Summer 2019). Also, I have experience doing research in topics related to Machine Learning and data analysis.
Research Interests: Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analysis, Markets and Financial Technology
I'm a Theoretical Physics student at the University of Puerto Rico, currently on my fifth year. I'm interested in programming, mathematics and optics, with plans to continue in research. I've currently only done mathematical analysis research applied to optics. It's my first time being in the directive but I've been a member of other associations, such as the SPS and FIS.
